About the Retreat

This Wellness Weekend is open to anyone who has an interest in natural health & holistic practices.  We welcome you to expand your knowledge and spend time with like-minded souls.

The aim of the weekend is to allow you to have deep rest and reconnect to what is important in your life in a safe and nurtured environment.  This means you can participate as much or as little as you want, knowing that there is no pressure upon you.

The Food

‘Love Your Gut’ is the title of this weekend and we will be focusing on a menu that is rich in foods to support your digestive system.  Food can be a daunting subject for many people and at times, overwhelming!  We are saturated with information and advice on what we should and should not be eating and new diets that seem to appear every week.

During this weekend we will be prviding a vegetarian diet rich in plant-based foods – fresh, nutritionally dense and seasonal where possible.  We will be preparing foods that soothe and lower inflammation, feed your gut micro-biome which in turn will nourish your mind and energise your body.

This year once again, I am delighted to be joined by Olga, a truly inspiring raw natural chef.

Together we will be providing you with a range of delicious nutritious meals – we aim to nourish your cells with fresh organic food designed to support and heal your digestive system, feed and nourish your brain and energy.

I also offer you the chance to join Olga in the kitchen to see how easy it really can be to cook up a nourishing meal.  Also to make a batch of sauerkraut or a quick healthy snack – so some hands-on experience for all of you should you so wish it!  This lunchtime session has a small extra free of £10.

To go with the ‘open’ kitchen I will be holding some workshop sessions specific to gut health.  We will look at how to incorporate some of this into your daily life – when you are working and juggling many other tasks!  We will focus on certain food groups, looking at more restrictive diets and information on how this can have a wider effect on the body.  We will also experiment with some supplements to help improve your gastrointestinal tract….

As Hippocrates said all those years ago – All disease begins in the gut…

Nicola will be holding the space the light and airy yoga room in the mornings and late afternoon.  Nicola has been practising yoga for the past 18 years and teaching for 6 years.

She is a Mysore Astanga student and full-time teacher and will be sharing many different forms of yoga including Astanga, vinyasa, yin, hatha, restorative and meditation techniques.

Her own personal journey has taken her from the depth of anxiety & depression to a healing place of peace, harmony and joy.  She will be sharing her knowledge with a depth of compassion and non-judgemental understanding, in a down to earth and gentle healing manner.  You can find out more about Nicola by clicking here:

Additional Treats

At Lower Coxbridge we have the opportunity to relax and spend time in the on-site Hot Tub – so please bring your swimsuit!  There will be other relaxing and restorative indulgences available too… but I don’t want to give it all away!
